Hello, my name is Mihaela  , Mici is the nickname I got when I was a little girl, people know me by that name , can be read in english as Mitzi.
I was born on May 4th and I’m living in Toronto, Canada.

I kind of got into photography at an early age, 9-10, when my older brother started his way in the photography world and processed his own photos at home, in his room which he had transformed often in a dark room. He used to let me sit with him and watch how people and things come alive on the photo paper. It was a cool thing. He has a succesful photo business now in our home town in Romania.

Later on, after finishing high school, I got a job in a photo laboratory in my home town, dealing with customers, digital picture printing and film developing. It was a great and exciting job, always waiting for new technology to come out, selling cameras, photo albums, films …going in the darkroom and dealing with films.
Unfortunately I didn’t take it as a real opportunity for me to learn a lot about the art of photography, it was more like a hobby and a job, an interesting job.

In 2005 I went to US to work and see the big world, that’s when i bought my first digital camera, a Nikon Coollpix, ( it was the best one at that time in the store until then I only shot pics on film.
I started taking pictures and filming also everything I could, nice and ugly, good and bad,.. people … places and things. In 2006 I started practicing Karate Kyokushin and a little bit later on Kickboxing. This is when I discovered the beauty and the challenge of an action shot. Since then I’m trying to improve my action shots and I’m completely addicted to them.
I like taking pictures of kids, people surprised in random situations, places , animals and flowers but I absolutely love landscapes and action shots.
Everyday  that passes by I realize that there is soooo much more to learn about photography.
All I want is to learn more and take pictures. 

I’d like to see the world, see different places and people, learn about different cultures and capture all of that in my pics.

I set up this blog so I can share my pictures and thoughts with you all, I called it Active because I’m an active  always on the move person and because of my love for action shots, even though I do photograph sometimes other styles too I’ll stay true to what is challenging and fun for me.
